We have an exciting opportunity to join our 2025 apprenticeship programme starting in September 2025, as a Design and Quality Apprentice. Pailton Engineering is a global leader in the design and manufacture of steering systems for Commercial and Military vehicles. From our base in Coventry, England, our 90,000 sq ft factory offers fully incorporated design, test and production facilities to the latest quality and manufacturing standards. We are focused on assisting medium volume Original Equipment (OE) vehicle manufacturers with bespoke engineered solutions for their driveline systems. Wage National Minimum Wage
  • Working within the Quality team maintaining focus on delivering right first time product by process audits. Improving the manufacturing processes based on data driven analysis. Promotion of a total Quality within the Value streams.
  • Inspect finished/work in progress components against technical specifications/customer requirements to ensure full compliance.
  • Conduct value stream cell audits to the weekly schedule, create and communicate audit reports supporting the Value stream in audit non-compliance resolution (NCR).
  • Develop and implement process improvements using statistical tools (SPC) within the value stream.
  • Responsible for the promotion of Quality objectives within the value stream supporting the drive for 100% right first time product.
  • Identify the causes of waste/scrap by supporting the Value stream to reduce the occurrence of scrap events.
  • Interpret technical drawings, review of product parts to ensure compliance to specifications.
  • Use the attribute gauges and variable data measuring equipment such as CMM/Shadowgraph/Vision systems.
  • Participate in measurement system analysis (MSA)

MTC Training eligibility: 5 GCSE's grades 9-4 / A*- C (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language or English Literature
