We have an exciting opportunity to join our 2025 apprenticeship programme starting in September 2025, as a Maintenance Apprentice. Pailton Engineering is a global leader in the design and manufacture of steering systems for Commercial and Military vehicles. Wage National Minimum Wage
  • Working as part of the Maintenance Team responsible for carrying out servicing of all types of machines, including manual and CNC.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Carryout reactive maintenance as required
  • Executing Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule for all machines and systems.
  • Recording outcome of all maintenance work on the system and completing paperwork.
  • Contributing to the improvement of maintenance KPIs.
  • Reducing onsite contractor requirement.
  • Monitoring machine consumable usage.
  • Assisting external contractors with machine servicing and problem solving.
  • Gain exposure to different machinery and PLCs
  • Flexible to provide cover or work late when required
  • Scheduled maintenance service on all machinery; PPM all mechanical and electrical aspects.
  • Find fault using ladder diagrams and PLC diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot faults with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a wide variety of machinery
  • Must be able to read electrical, hydraulic and mechanical drawings.
  • Monitor and execute PPM of numerous CNC machines.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of building and facilities
  • Perform routine checks on various Plant, Facilities, and Equipment.
  • Must be competent to work with 12/24VOC, 110/230/415VAC
  • Work alongside and provide holiday cover for Maintenance team.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Conversant with H&S rules, regulations and best practices.

MTC Training eligibility: 5 GCSE's grades 9-4 / A*- C (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language or English Literature
