Sue has worked in the further education sector for forty years, including with apprenticeship providers, adult education, FE Colleges and funding agencies. From 2009 until 2021 she held the position of CEO for three organisations, firstly a large general FE College in Sussex, followed by the National College for Creative Industries in Essex and, most recently, the National College for Advanced Infrastructure in Birmingham. All of these organisations showed quality improvements and achieved positive Ofsted judgements under her leadership.
She is an independent trustee for South Bank Colleges in London, Chairs their Quality Improvement Committee and is lead Trustee for Safeguarding. Sue joined MTC Training as a Non-Executive board member in January 2022, and Chairs the Education Committee. She was awarded an MBE for services to education in 2017.
