Helping industry develop and retain its future leaders today
The MTC is increasing its apprenticeship portfolio, with the launch of a Level 4 apprenticeship programme to help manufacturing businesses to develop the specialist skills knowledge and expertise within their workforce.
The Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship gives learners the flexibility and capability to become high performing technicians by exploring the integrated nature of engineering. This industry-recognised qualification provides the next development step for employees working in or aspiring to progress into higher level technical roles in their organisation with the potential to develop into a leadership positon.
The new 30-month block release programme delivers knowledge across a range of core and more specialist units, making it a relevant and valuable qualification for employees throughout all parts of the sector. Apprentices will develop an understanding of areas including design, manufacture, maintenance, mechanical and electronic engineering.
David Hughes MBE, Managing Director, Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre, said: “We are committed to supporting the sector’s workforce throughout every stage of their career, from their very first steps onto the engineering pathway right through to becoming an expert in specialist emerging technology. Our new Level 4 Apprenticeship will help businesses to develop and retain their future leaders today, supporting Great British manufacturing to flourish.”
The MTC will deliver the programme from its two training centres, the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) in Coventry, and Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) in Oxfordshire. The apprenticeship is suitable for employees across a broad range of roles, and funding is available to support all sizes of business.
